UFC Fight Night Doubleheader Roundup: Rafael Dos Anjos With Upset Of The Year Candidate

ufc fight night 49

The UFC completed another day-night doubleheader, with events going down in China and Oklahoma.

At UFC Fight Night 49 to conclude the day we had one of the biggest upsets of the year, as Rafael dos Anjos finished Benson Henderson.

Dos Anjos landed a double flying knee and followed up with a left that knocked the former UFC champion out. Henderson appeared to go out on his way down from the shot, but he did his best to protest the stoppage. It didn’t matter, as RDA was celebrating the biggest win of his career.

Jordan Mein, who dealt with the arrest of his father, dropped Mike Pyle and earned another first round finish, while Thales Leites and Max Holloway also picked up stoppage wins.

Over at The Venetian in Macau, China, Michael Bisping scored a finish of former Strikeforce champion Cung Le. The win kept “The Count” on the cusp of title contention and allowed him to avoid his first-ever losing streak.

Le, 42 years old and fighting for the first time since 2012, didn’t proclaim retirement next for himself.

In other UFC Fight Night 48 action, Tyron Woodley ducked a spinning attack by Dong Hyun Kim moments into their co-main event and pounced, finishing “Stun Gun.”
