Round 1: Boetsch right in on a single-leg, but Tavares defends and works him against the fence. Tavares is extremely difficult to get down to the canvas. Solid knee for Boetsch, but Tavares survives and fires back. Again to the clinch after a failed takedown attempt by Boetsch. Elbow by Tavares has busted Boetsch’s face open, and he follows up with another. Just all Tavares so far through three-plus minutes, as he is landing both the left and right at will. Tavares looks to have slipped coming in and Boetsch tries to bounce, but he gets to his feet. Tavares in close and scores with a takedown of his own.
