Gray Maynard vs. Ross Pearson
It’s co-main event time, as former UFC lightweight title contender Gray Maynard (11-3-1) tries to begin his road back to the championship against ex-Ultimate Fighter winner Ross Pearson (15-7).
Round 1: Maynard with his hands down, almost baiting Pearson in. Good left hook connects by “The Bully.” Pearson, who called into question Maynard’s chin after losses to T.J. Grant and Nate Diaz, lands with a left. The Brit appears to be a touch quicker, as he gets off three shots before Maynard can defend. Maynard transitions to a takedown and scores, but Pearson gets to his feet without suffering much damage. Good exchange that Pearson wins with a left. Small cut opened up on the bridge of Maynard’s nose. These two have almost butted heads a number of times, as they both are leaning in upon striking.
