Norman Parke vs. Naoyuki Kotani
We open up the main card with lightweight action, as Norman Parke (19-2-1) takes on Naoyuki Kotani (33-10-7).
Round 1: Parke works quickly to control the center of the Octagon, and Kotani is content to work the outside. Kotani shoots for a takedown, is denied, and finds himself against the fence. It’s now Kotani controlling the center, using kicks and jabs. Parke gets in close and connects, flexing his power in the process. The Irish fighter is backing him down, but Kotani catches a kick and is able to hold Parke against the fence. No damage done, though, and they separate. Parke takes the back off a failed takedown with 30 seconds left. He’s got one hook in but resorts to just pounding away on Kotani instead of going for the submission.

Round 2: Kotani was very close to being finished there at the end of the round, so it will be interesting to see how he comes out. Parke right back on the attack. Parke with a takedown, as he drops Kotani to the canvas from the side. He moves to side control and pushes Kotani away from the fence in the process. More vicious elbows to the face by Parke get through. An exhausted and frustrated Kotani is getting bloodied and beaten by elbows. All Parke as we approach the two-minute mark, but Kotani is able to escape with a nice sweep and get to his feet. Parke, though, takes him right back down. Parke’s teeing off with rights and the ref steps in to end this one.
