Diego Sanchez vs. Ross Pearson

Back to the lightweight division, as co-main event fighters Diego Sanchez and Ross Pearson hit the Octagon.

Sanchez (24-7) is a former Ultimate Fighter winner, but has lost his last two and is just 3-5 overall. Pearson (15-6) also won a season of TUF and is 2-0 with one no-contest in his last three.

Round 1: Pearson working the body. He was screaming across the Octagon at Sanchez during the intros. Another vicious body shot for the Brit. Kick to the knee, much like Jon Jones, for Sanchez. A left connects for Pearson, who has been on-point with his striking so far. Head kick by Pearson is caught and Sanchez goes on the attack, backing him up against the fence.

Round 2: Sanchez tries to land a spinning back fist, but catches a kick to the back of the head for his efforts. Pearson snapping off the right at will, mixing it up with kicks to the body. Left hook by Pearson, as Sanchez is covering up his body and leaving the head exposed. Cut opened up on Sanchez and Pearson catches him with a right that drops him. Sanchez signals to bring it, but he looks a little wobbly. Pearson catches a kick and trips him to the canvas, but it allows Sanchez to gain the clinch and land some nice knees.

Round 3: Pearson playing it smart, picking his openings and staying away from the power shots of Sanchez. Pearson tries for a KO hook, misses and almost eats a flying knee. Greg Jackson is screaming at Sanchez, who land a nice body shot as they get in close. Pearson to the body and head, rocking Sanchez. The crowd is trying to will Sanchez to do something incredible, but it’s Pearson who gets off a left.
