Nick Hein vs. Drew Dober

We’ll conclude the prelims in the lightweight division with Nick Hein and Drew Dober.

Hein (10-1) is a perfect 4-0 in his last four and is unbeaten in his last six overall. He will be making his Octagon debut.

Dober (14-5) dropped his first fight in the UFC with a decision loss to Sean Spencer. Prior to that, he had gone 8-1, with the lone loss being to current interim Bellator champion Will Brooks.

Round 1: Hein throwing everything he can in his left hand, as Dan Hardy called it, “Hulk smash.” A cut is opened up over the eye of Dober and he is bleeding from it. Hein attacking the opening, but Dober is pushing forward. Straight left lands after an inside leg kick, but Hein uses his judo and scores with an easy takedown. Dober has him tied up, avoiding any damage. Straight kick drops Dober, but Hein allows him to get back to his feet. Good exchange from in close by both. Dober ties him up against the fence, but Hein easily scores with a takedown.

Round 2: Dober defends a body lock from Hein and seems mad now, firing strong shots at Hein. Dober getting thrown around by Hein, who is wearing on him with a lock. Hein jumps on his back and has both hooks in, looking for a choke with under two minutes to go. Dober tries to throw him off, and does, but Hein quickly latches back on. This time, though, Dober reverses and is on top, landing good elbows.

Round 3: Dober gets in deep for a takedown, but Hein is able to keep his balance and they clinch against the fence. Lots of blood being smeared across the face of Dober from the cut opened up in the first. He drops for another takedown but quickly bails on it. Hein with a huge right and we are going to have the cut looked at by the Octagonside doctor. After a little work, the fight is back on and Hein is peppering the face with lefts and rights. Hein has no trouble denying the takedown attempt and they square off in the center again with a minute left.
