Michel Prazeres vs. Mairbek Taisumov
The first lightweight tilt hits the Octagon next, as Michel Prazeres meets up with Mairbek Taisumov.
Prazeres (17-1) earned his first UFC victory by topping Jesse Ronson last September.
Taisumov (21-4) is on a four-fight win streak that includes a January decision over Tae Hyun Bang.
Round 1: This was originally suppose to be Gleison Tibau vs. Taisumov, but Tibau was injured. Prazeres getting off the better strikes right now, landing a nice combo. Next, Prazeres shows off his wrestling with a takedown, advancing to the full mount with ease. Nice use of a kimura to improve his position on top, as Prazeres is dominating. Potential armbar by Prazeres, who releases but lands some heavy shots to the face and goes back to the mount. Taisumov escapes and lands an illegal kick, docking him a point. Not a good round at all for Taisumov.

Round 2: Prazeres catches a kick and unloads with a right that drops Taisumov. However, Taisumov gets a reverse, recovers and is on top now. Now, Taisumov has been deducted another point for grabbing the fence. This should be interesting from here on out, as Taisumov is well behind on the scorecards after losing two points. Prazeres with a nice shot that just misses, and he has been in complete control of this weird fight.
FightLine scores the round 10-8 for Prazeres
Round 3: Prazeres imposing his will, tying Taisumov up against the fence. The ref warns Taisumov that if he has to stop the fight for him grabbing the fence again, he will be disqualified. Taisumov being screamed at by Roger Huerta, and he is pushing the action now. We head under two minutes and Prazeres lands a takedown – despite Taisumov using the fence again to stay upright at first. Full mount secured by Prazeres with 80 seconds left.
