Silva’s strike-based stoppages are fairly limited, but anyone who has seen “Indio” in action knows how dangerous his stand-up can be. He’s athletic, aggressive, and is still improving as an overall competitor. Silva’s ground and pound is also an effective tool, reminding viewers that power and precision aren’t reserved just for stand-up.
Reading over the lineup for UFC Fight Night 29 resembles a roster of athletes assembled for a high-level BJJ tournament. However, while next week’s card is populated by pugilists excellent on the ground, there are also a handful of talented strikers in the bunch. The end result should no doubt produce a memorable show sure to feature both submissions and a few TKOs to boot. (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
