At the end of UFC Fight Night 29, featherweight Hacran Dias got his “show” money despite not competing on the card. He was set to face Rodrigo Damm, but he suffered kidney stones four days prior to the event. No replacement could be found and Dias was scratched from the card altogether.
Fighter payrolls aren’t revealed in Brazil, so how much Dias took is unknown. Dias was in transit when he heard about the fight cancellation, so UFC officials decided to still pay him.
Dias is 21-2 and debuted for the UFC with a decision over Yuri Alcantara. Then, Nik Lentz defeated Dias in May of this year. There are plans to rebook Dias in the near future and still no word about Damm’s medical status.
UFC Fight Night 29 came from Brazil’s Ginásio José Correa this past Wednesday, October 9.
