The UFC has dabbled with shows in Europe and for next year, they have a full tour planned. It will start in March with an event out of England, according to UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta.
“It’s going to be a significant event and we’re really excited that we’re going to be here on a consistent basis,” said Fertitta. “We are going to find some incredibly talented fighters from various countries in this market that someday will probably be a UFC champion.”
No exact dates or venues were disclosed, but Fertitta is planning on six events out of Europe.
The UFC has shown interest in former light heavyweight No. 1 contender Alexander Gustafsson competing out of his home country of Sweden. He was supposed to compete on their Sweden card last winter, but a late injury caused his removal.
