Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo dominated the sport for several years, taking on all challengers and leaving the Octagon with his hand raised in victory.
However, all that was lost when Conor McGregor knocked him out just seconds into their title fight.
Aldo responded, coming back to defeat Frankie Edgar and become the interim champion. He never got his rematch with McGregor, as “Notorious” won the lightweight title and was stripped of the featherweight belt.
UFC officials declared Aldo the champion and paired him with Max Holloway earlier this year in a bout to unify the titles. Holloway won that, and this time, Aldo gets his shot at revenge.
The two meet Saturday night in the main event of UFC 218 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Aldo discusses his desire to continue fighting and having that “fire back” inside his soul to compete in this interview.
