Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy is off for this Saturday night at UFC 205 after the New York Athletic Commission denied Evans’ fight license.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion was set to make his middleweight debut vs. Kennedy. In a statement released by the promotion, they said they will not replace the bout, but will provide both Evans and Kennedy with their show money.
“The UFC organization was notified today that the New York State Athletic Commission has denied Rashad Evans a license to compete at UFC 205 due to a medical issue. Evans’ scheduled bout against Tim Kennedy this coming Saturday, November 12 in New York, will be removed from the fight card. However, both athletes will receive their show money. There are currently no plans to replace this bout.”
