The UFC broke a Madison Square Garden record for UFC 205 Saturday night, as the live gate was announced at $17.7 million.
That is both a record for the promotion and one for the historic building that has held countless mega-boxing events.
Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson, who fought to a majority draw for the welterweight title, were named “Fight of the Night,” while Conor McGregor and Yoel Romero earned “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
McGregor finished Eddie Alvarez in the main event to become the lightweight champion, while Romero knocked out Chris Weidman to become the top middleweight contender.
The attendance was announced at 20,427.
