Marcos Rogerio de Lima did not get hit Saturday night at UFC 197.
The Brazilian dominated Clint Hester, earning his 11th career finish after locking up an arm-triangle choke inside of the first round.
Rogerio de Lima (14-3-1) landed 76 of 99 total strikes landing, including a flurry on the ground that left Hester injured. Once the choke was secured, the former Ultimate Fighter competitor quickly tapped out.
“I felt he was feeling my strikes,” he said. “The arm-triangle is one of my best positions. After Clint started to fade, I went for it.”
Rogerio de Lima was coming off a submission loss of his own to Nikita Krylov last August. He is now 3-1 overall inside the Octagon and 6-1-1 over his last eight fights.
“I have been wanting to show that I am not just a Muay Thai fighter, but I am an MMA fighter,” he said. “It worked out tonight.”
Hester (11-6) suffered his third straight loss, with all of them being finishes.
