Several highly-regarded fighters will take to the Octagon this Saturday night to comprise the UFC 191 prelim card.
Included are the likes of Joe Riggs, Ron Stallings, Jessica Andrade, Francisco Rivera and John Lineker.
However, the “main event” on FOX Sports 1 is the fight that should provide the most fireworks.
In a lightweight contest, former Ultimate Fighter winner Ross Pearson meets Paul Felder.
The 30-year-old Pearson (17-9) captured the Season 9 title of TUF and has been involved in two “Fight of the Nights” since. However, he is just 2-3 in his last five, including decision losses to Evan Dunham and Diego Sanchez.
Pearson knocked out Sam Stout this past March to earn a “Performance of the Night” bonus, and also scored a second round finish of former UFC lightweight title contender Gray Maynard. His other contest was a second round TKO loss to Al Iaquinta.
After earning a decision win in 2009 vs. Andre Winner in the finals of TUF, Pearson went on to claim back-to-back wins over Aaron Riley and Dennis Siver. He was submitted by Cole Miller in 2010 and has experienced as many ups as downs since.
One thing, though, about the tough Brit is he never backs down. Pearson’s fought the likes of Edson Barboza, Cub Swanson, Melvin Guillard and George Sotiropoulos during the past four years.
Felder (10-1) is looking to bounce right back after a late July decision loss to Barboza that snapped his 10-fight win streak. The 31-year-old opened his UFC career in impressive fashion, besting Jason Saggo and knocking out Danny Castillo for his own “Performance” bonus.
Prior to signing with the UFC, Felder earned six knockouts, including four straight to begin his pro career from 2011-13.
FightLine will have complete coverage the rest of the week leading up to fight-night, along with complete fight-by-fight results and play-by-play on Saturday.
