The UFC kicked off 2015 with a bang Saturday night, as UFC 182 went down from Las Vegas.
In a bout that has been fueled through interviews and social media since the summer, Jon Jones successfully defended his light heavyweight title with a decision victory over Daniel Cormier. “Bones” was awarded the fight on all three scorecards, taking four of the five rounds with him.
After, he admitted that he was being “classless” because of his utter distaste for Cormier.
Donald Cerrone earned a decision victory over Myles Jury in the co-main event, while Brad Tavares, Kyoji Horiguchi and Hector Lombard all did the same in their respective main card bouts.
Paul Felder landed just the third spinning back-fist knockout in UFC history to conclude the prelims, flooring Danny Castillo in the second round. That followed finishes by Cody Garbrandt and Shawn Jordan.
Evan Dunham, Omari Akhmedov and Marion Reneau also earned wins, as all three picked up decisions.
