UFC 180/Bellator 131: Fighters In Need Of A Win

ufc 180

The stage will be set this weekend, as the UFC and Bellator go head-to-head with events.

UFC 180 takes place on pay-per-view and FOX Sports 1 from Mexico, while Bellator 131 goes down on Spike TV from San Diego.

For Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar – the four fighters comprising the two main events – their futures are locked in. But what about the others?

Here’s a look at those fighters who are in desperate need of a victory Saturday night:

Michael Chandler/Bellator 131

Let me first point out that Michael Chandler isn’t going anywhere. He’s included on this list because no fighter wants to be stuck in a three-fight losing skid.

Chandler’s dropped back-to-back split decisions to Will Brooks and Eddie Alvarez, suffering the first defeats of his MMA career. You could make a case that Chandler should still be unbeaten and the reigning Bellator lightweight champion, but he isn’t.

For Chandler to make a case for being the best 155-pound fighter in the world, he’s got to take care of Brooks.
