A bantamweight scrap has been added to the UFC 175 lineup, as George Roop welcomes Rob Font to the Octagon.
Set for July 5 from Las Vegas, the card will feature Chris Weidman defending his middleweight title against Lyoto Machida in the main event. The co-main boasts female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against Alexis Davis.
Roop (15-10-1) has fought 11 times for the UFC since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter, going 5-6 during his time. He is 3-1 in his last four, including a recent decision over Dustin Kimura.
Font (10-1) signed with the promotion recently after a strong run on the regional circuit. His fight team announced the bout with Roop, which has yet to be made official by the promotion.
“He has a lot of fights, a lot of experience and he’s super tough,” Font said. “But I do see holes. I see holes in his stand-up game and that’s where I’m the best at.”
