Just a matter of weeks out from fighting and Raphael Assuncao needs a new opponent.
Assuncao was scheduled to face Francisco Rivera at UFC 170 later this month, but Rivera posted on Twitter that he has suffered an injury in training and will not make the contest.
“Sorry guys busted my hand again,” he wrote. “Won’t be fighting UFC 170.”
Assuncao (21-4) has won five consecutive fights since a 2011 loss to Erik Koch. No word yet if the UFC will be able to find a bantamweight replacement to keep him on the card.
In the meantime, Assuncao wasted to time letting it be known he wants to fight on the card.
Hi guys, so..My supposed opponent Francisco Rivera broke his hand and is outta the fight #UFC170 . Who would ya'll like me fight against ??

One fighter quickly replied that he was ready, as Eddie Wineland posted, “I’m up for it!!” Wineland has been viewed as a potential top contender to the belt.
