Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins
It’s not Rashad Evans awaiting Daniel Cormier in his light heavyweight debut.
Instead, Cormier (13-0) will face Patrick Cummins. Cormier is moving down from heavyweight, where he defeated the likes of Roy Nelson, Frank Mir, Josh Barnett and Antonio Silva.
Cummins (4-0) signed a UFC contract last week after Evans injured his knee. He is a former standout wrestler at Penn State University.
Round 1: Cummins coming right after Cormier, throwing some big shots. They clinch, and Cormier lands to the body. Cormier lands an uppercut and Cummins is hurt. Inside leg kick, another clinch, and Cormier connects again. Effective striking by “DC” here and Cummins is hurt. Wild shots by Cummins, who goes down, gets up, goes down again. Cormier on his back, unloading and this one is all over. Cummins has no idea where he is.
