They might not be getting Jon Jones, but championship gold will be on the line in New Jersey for UFC 169.
Officials confirmed two title fights for the February card set for Super Bowl weekend, as UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo faces Ricardo Lamas and bantamweights champs Dominick Cruz and Renan Barao finally square off.
Set for February 1 from the Prudential Center, the event will coincide with the Super Bowl, which goes down that Sunday from MetLife Stadium in New York.
Aldo (23-1) has won all five of his UFC bouts, while Lamas (13-2) is a perfect 4-0 inside the Octagon.
The Cruz (19-1) vs. Barao (31-1) contest will see the unification of the bantamweight title. “The Dominator” has been out of action since 2011 due to a pair of knee injuries.
