Heavyweights Josh Barnett and Travis Browne will square off this December at UFC 168. Officials announced the bout on Tuesday.
The card goes down December 28 from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Two titles will be on the line, as Chris Weidman defends his UFC middleweight belt vs. Anderson Silva, and Ronda Rousey meets Miesha Tate for the women’s bantamweight gold.
Barnett (33-6) returned from a lengthy absence inside the Octagon to defeat Frank Mir recently. He is now 5-1 in his UFC career and a former champion.
Browne (15-1-1) staked his claim to becoming a future contender by besting Alistair Overeem. His lone loss came at the hands of Antonio Silva.
