Thales Leites wanted to compete another time this year for the UFC and he was granted his wish in a big way. The Brazilian will be featured at UFC 167, which is the 20th anniversary for the promotion, against Ed Herman.
“It will be an honor,” said Leites to TATAME. “It will be great for sure. I’ll do better, struggling forward, intelligent, seeking knockout or submission all the time.”
In his return to the UFC, Leites took the decision from Tom Watson. The former middleweight title challenger has spent the last few years competing for MFC and Super Challenge. He’s 21-4 with four straight wins.
Herman got a split-decision over Trevor Smith for his first win since early 2012. He’s been with the UFC since 2006.
UFC 167 is November 16 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
