Jessica Eye is certain she won the first two rounds at UFC 166 and her win over Sarah Kaufman is correct. The judges scored it a split-decision for Eye.
“I absolutely think I did enough to win,” said Eye to MMA Fighting. “The third round I kind of fell apart and stopped listening to my coaches. I let my hands drop and she snuck in a few right hands.”
When Bellator closed their female roster, Eye made the move to bantamweight and quickly signed with the UFC. She’s 11-1 in her second win this year.
Kaufman was considered a top name in the still developing women’s bantamweight division. She was a former Strikeforce champion and goes to 16-3.
They were the only females to compete at UFC 166. The main event of the card saw Cain Velasquez stop Junior dos Santos in the final round to remain heavyweight champion.
