Jon Jones has talked in the past about doing extensive work in preparing for Alexander Gustafsson.
The UFC light heavyweight champion will have the chance to surpass Tito Ortiz as the king of 205 pounds with a successful title defense tonight at UFC 165 vs. Gustafsson.
On “UFC Tonight” earlier this week, Jones was asked his thoughts on Gustafsson.
“I think Alexander uses his reach really well, but he doesn’t use his as well as I use mine,” he said. “If you watch his fights, he gets hit in the face a lot.
“He does a lot of things that I do, but I think I do them better.”
The reach has become a key around this fight, as Jones has held significant advantages over his past few foes. With “The Mauler,” though, he only has a couple of inches in his corner.
FightLine will be providing complete coverage of the entire card, along with pre- and post-fight news and information.
