Top-ranked UFC featherweight Chad Mendes will stand across from Clay Guida on August 31st at UFC 164: Henderson vs Pettis 2.
“This is a great match up for me,” he said. “Guida’s style is wrestling, my background is wrestling. I have a lot more power than he does in my punches. I don’t think he has any one particularly dangerous moves, he jumps around like a wild monkey, he’s got that long hair that’s kinda distracting.”
An NCAA Division 1 All-American, Mendes has the wrestling to keep a huggy bear like Guida from holding him for three-rounds, and he also believes that he has the better punch.
“My strengths versus his strengths — mine are a stronger. I’m excited to be the first one to knock Guida out,” Mendes continues. “I just need to get my hands on him.”
