TJ Grant Yet To Touch The Mats

TJ Grant is no dummy and won’t be training until his brain is back to 100 percent. A concussion caused the lightweight to pull himself from a title shot on two occasions now. Since being diagnosed, Grant hasn’t touched the mats in three months.

“I had to make a good decision for myself,” said Grant on Fight Hub TV. “Your brain is a different story. I still haven’t trained really, at all. I haven’t been on the mats, at all, for three months. I just want to do what’s best for myself. I’m not starting training unless my brain is 100 percent.”

Since dropping to lightweight, Grant has won five in a row. This year he finished Matt Wiman and Gray Maynard in the first round.

First, Grant pulled out of UFC 164 then this week the same concussion caused his exit from UFC on FOX 9.  Both were title shots for the Canadian.
