February 28 is looking like an interesting day in the world of MMA.
Several weeks ago, Titan FC announced that they would return with a card on CBS Sports Network. Under new management, former Alchemist leader Jeff Aronson, the promotion has signed a bevy of ex-UFC standouts.
Titan FC 27 was slated to start at 10 p.m. ET and feature Mike Ricci against Jorge Gurgel in the main event, with Matt Riddle competing in the co-main event.
Since that time, Bellator has announced they will start action in the light heavyweight tournament also on February 28 with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson taking on Christian M’Pumbu and “King Mo” Lawal vs. Mikhail Zayats at Bellator 110.
On Thursday, the World Series of Fighting announced that they would re-air a card from the previous week on NBC Sports Network, meaning three promotions will have programming on three different networks, as Bellator airs on Spike TV.
Aronson decided to take the first step to help fight fans see all the action, announcing Titan FC would move the start time of the main card to 11:30 p.m. ET.
“We believe that the positive attention we have garnered over the past few weeks has caused these organizations to make a knee jerk reaction,” said Aronson in a released statement. “Due to the almost daily announcements, which include the signing of some of the top free agents and most coveted prospects in the world to our roster, these other companies decided to try and hinder our debut.
“In reality all they have done is shown how scared they are of Titan’s presence and new regime.”
