Kevin Croom vs. Bryan Goldsby

We head to the ranks of bantamweight, as Kevin Croom goes up against Bryan Goldsby.

Croom (14-4) is on a nine-fight win streak and already has his next bout lined up, as a victory tonight moves him into a title fight vs. Anthony Birchak in May for Maximum Fighting Championship.

Goldsby (17-15) has won his last four fights, including two by finish.

Round 1: Goldsby eats a knee to secure the takedown. Croom goes right to the butterfly guard while on his back. Nice scramble and we head back to the feet, as both tried for a kimura while on the ground. This time, Croom eats a kick to the body and shoots for a takedown, scoring with it. Goldsby has moved up against the fence, and is landing some nice elbows to the head, but Goldsby gets up and sweeps off, scoring his own takedown.

You can tell Croom is landing elbows to the face, as it is covered with blood from Goldsby’s face. As he throws up a triangle, Goldsby is able to get to his feet. Croom, though, fires back with a power takedown. Goldsby gets up and is firing on all cylinders as the round comes to a close, taking advantage of a tired-looking Croom.

Round 3: Goldsby with two huge right hands to the head, and snaps off a quick left jab. More effective striking from Goldsby, who defends a takedown. Goldsby gets a little too out of control and Croom scores a takedown with three minutes to go. Croom hasn’t been able to do much damage in this position, and Goldsby has gotten his legs up. He is looking at the ref to stand them up. With a minute left, the ref stands them up and Goldsby comes out right after Croom. Goldsby fends off a takedown attempt once but can’t stop the second attempt and goes to his back as the round ends.
