Over at the Independence training camp, there’s heavyweight Stipe Miocic and the latest addition to the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division in Jessica Eye. Miocic will apparently be a future champion according to Eye.
“He’s not a brawler,” said Eye to Cleveland.com. “He’s an actual fighter. The only person that will stop him from being a world champion is himself.”
Miocic does have some work to accomplish before he gets to the title picture. By defeating Roy Nelson this year, Miocic is now ranked number nine in the division and is 4-1 for the UFC.
Eye made the move from flyweight to bantamweight when Bellator stopped pursuing WMMA. She’s 11-1 after a split-decision over Sarah Kaufman.
Both fighters have no confirmed return dates or opponents.
