Leading up to UFC 198, Stipe Miocic put in time not only inside the cage, but outside of it.
Miocic challenges Fabricio Werdum for the heavyweight title this Saturday night. And the 14-2 heavyweight believes he has found spots to attack.
“Everyone has holes. I’m not going to say anything now, maybe he’s watching. We watched a lot of tape and saw a lot of holes,” Miocic said, during an appearance on UFC Tonight. “I’m going to do what I want to do. If he wants to go to the ground, that’s fine. I’m a wrestler. I’m going to be smart. Wherever it goes it goes, but I’m going to dictate where I want it to go.”
For Miocic, the bout isn’t only about himself. He’ll also be fighting for his home, Cleveland, in hopes of bringing a championship to the city.
“It’d mean everything. We need it,” he said. “We’ve been so close, but we’ve never gotten it.”
