As far as Stephen Thompson is concerned, a rematch with Tyron Woodley for the UFC welterweight title is the only fight that makes sense.
And he just might be right.
Woodley and Thompson fought to a majority draw Saturday night at UFC 205, with “The Chosen One” leaving Madison Square Garden with the title still around his waist.
“I thought that I did enough to finish out that last round and get the draw,” he said. “Of course, I’d rather have the win but it is what it is. We both went out there and fought our hearts out. I hope we can do it again.
“Nothing else would interest me. I want the rematch. I don’t want anything but that rematch.”
Thompson bested the likes of former champion Johny Hendricks and former title contender Rory MacDonald on his way to becoming the first challenger for Woodley’s title.
