Despite some believing retirement was next for Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, it appears as if the former UFC light heavyweight champion will be competing for a foreseeable future.
Rua (22-9) announced on Twitter that he has signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion. It was recently confirmed that he will return to action later this year against Jimi Manuwa.
After dropping the title to Jon Jones in 2011, Rua has gone just 3-4, including knockouts of James Te Huna, Brandon Vera and Forrest Griffin.
