Shayna Baszler, a close friend and training partner of UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, will have to wait a little while longer to make her UFC debut.
Baszler was scheduled to face Sarah Kaufman at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale later this month, but an injury has knocked her out. No word yet on if a replacement opponent will be found, as the card takes place April 16.
A member of The Ultimate Fighter season, Baszler (15-8) lost to eventual winner Julianna Pena in the first fight. She has faced the likes of Alexis Davis and Sara McMann in her career.
Kaufman (16-2) last fought in October, falling to Jessica Eye. However, the decision was changed to a no-contest after Eye failed the post-fight drug test. Kaufman is a former Strikeforce champion who lost to Rousey in 2012.
“What lady is stepping up with Baszler out?” Kaufman asked on Twitter. “Come try to beat up a Canadian!!”
