A pair of former UFC female bantamweight contenders appear to be on the verge of squaring off, as Sara McMann and Miesha Tate have been working on a fight contract.
McMann (8-1) has been asking for Tate since she defeated Lauren Murphy via split decision in August. She posted on Twitter recently that the Tate contest is “one step closer” to being signed.

Tate (15-5) earned her second straight victory when she scored a decision over Rin Nakai in Japan in September. That came on the heels of a decision over Liz Carmouche in April, giving “Cupcake” her first win streak since 2011.
