The UFC has released Ryan Couture, after posting an 0-2 outing for the promotion.
When Strikeforce closed their doors in January, Couture joined the UFC at 6-1. At the same time, the UFC had a nasty public fallout with Ryan’s dad. It started when UFC hall of famer Randy Couture announced a deal to be a coach on Bellator’s Fight Master.
Ryan was stopped by Ross Pearson then took a one-sided decision loss to Al Iaquinta at UFC 164.
His manager Sam Spira says Ryan will seek more experience at a smaller platform before deciding whether to pursue another run in the UFC.
