When thinking of WMMA, Ronda Rousey is one of the first names to appear. Being the first UFC women’s champion and finishing all of her fights via first round armbar is likely why.
While Royce Gracie isn’t a big fan of females fighting, he thinks family member Kyra Gracie could have the tools to stop Rousey.
“Kyra has talent, is tough, she only needs the discipline to train [MMA],” said Royce to MMA Fighting. “She has more submissions, is more used to competition. [Rousey] is good, she knows what she’s doing, but Kyra’s jiu-jitsu is better.
Royce believes the multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion will wear the gold if she decides to enter WMMA.
Rousey will defend her title at UFC 168 against Miesha Tate on December 28. Past that show, the next No. 1 contender isn’t known.
