Ross Pearson Gets Back On Track At Expense Of Sam Stout

After seeing six finishes before him, Ross Pearson made sure to conclude the prelims with a resounding stoppage of his own.

Pearson, a former Ultimate Fighter winner, sent Sam Stout flying across the canvas in the second round at UFC 185 Saturday night, earning his first win since last year. The Brit improved to 17-8 and 9-5 with one no-contest over his Octagon career.

After playing it a little too close to the vest in the first, Pearson went with his speed in the second.

“I am always looking for the big left hook,” he said. “I knew eventually it was going to be there.”

Both Pearson and Stout tossed left hooks, but it was the punch from Pearson that landed with more of an impact.

“Sam is a tough guy, a warrior,” Pearson said. “He is always pressing forward and the game plan was all about speed, not power. It was about being faster and landing.”
