Rory MacDonald was scheduled to face Hector Lombard next.
That was scrapped when Lombard failed a previous drug test.
After a win Saturday night, Benson Henderson made it known that he would be willing to stay at welterweight and face MacDonald.
But that isn’t in the cards, according to UFC president Dana White.
Following UFC Fight Night 60, White stated that MacDonald is booked, but did not reveal any further details. Most reports believe he will challenge Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title.
“He has a fight lined up,” White said. “But it hasn’t been announced yet.”
MacDonald (18-2) has won nine of his 11 Octagon bouts, but lost via decision to Lawler. Since that early 2013 loss, he’s defeated Demian Maia, Tyron Woodley and Tarec Saffiedine.
Lawler, meanwhile, won the title via decision over Johny Hendricks to close out 2014.
