MacDonald posted on Twitter Thursday night that he is ready to sign a deal to face Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title after reports surfaced indicating that was the plan.

MacDonald (18-2) was declared the No. 1 contender after finishing Tarec Saffiedine last October for his third straight win. His last loss came to Lawler (25-10), who won the title in December over Johny Hendricks.
