Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner Rony Jason had a rough start to his UFC Fight Night 67 bout with Damon Jackson.
Jason, though, persevered and scored with a first round submission, locking up a triangle choke for his 15th career win.
It appeared as if Jackson was in complete control, but a perfectly-timed reversal allowed the Brazilian to go to work on his submission game. Jason had a triangle, switched to an armbar and moved back to the choke.
“I am a jiu-jitsu guy,” said Jason, who made a plea to end the corruption in the Brazilian government. “If he wants to take me down, I just give him a kiss and thank him.”
After winning eight in a row, including three straight inside the Octagon, Jason (15-5) had gone just 1-2 in his last three. This was his fourth UFC finish. This marked his ninth career submission win.
