Ronda Rousey’s Coach Sees No Chance For Bethe Correia

Edmond Tarvedyan, the head coach for UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, has helped form one of the best fighters in the world.

Rousey will return to the Octagon at UFC 190 against Brazilian Bethe Correia in her home country, but Tarvedyan believes the challenger has bitten off more than she can chew.

“Bethe talks a little bit too much, so I’m thinking Ronda will want to punish her face a little bit,” said Tarvedyan during a recent interview with Submission Radio. “This chicks talks a bit too much, and Ronda’s real excited to fight her, real focused and is gonna eat her alive.”

Rousey is coming off a convincing 14-second victory over top challenger Cat Zingano, while Correia is unbeaten – like Zingano – and has downed two of her closest friends in Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler.

Despite those victories, some – including Tarvedyan – feel like Correia’s talking is the only reason she earned the championship match.

“There’s more girls that do deserve to fight Ronda like Jessica Eye, (but) their time will come too,” he said. “Ronda’s going to demolish her in front of her home town so she could keep her mouth a bit closed. There could be three Bethe’s together, or five of her; they can’t do shit to Ronda.”
