UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will take on a new challenger this January, meeting Holly Holm at UFC 195.

Rousey made the announcement during an appearance on “Good Morning America” Friday.

Most believed the former Olympic bronze medalist would be facing Miesha Tate for a third time, but UFC officials tabbed Holm (9-0), who is a former multi-division boxing world champion, for the title shot.

“She’s my biggest challenge to date,” Rousey said. “I’m super excited.

“(Holm’s) the best striker I’ve ever fought and striking is something I learned much later in my career. I don’t ever expect fights to be easy and fast.”

Rousey (12-0) is coming off another impressive victory, having bested Bethe Correia in Brazil to improve to 6-0 inside the Octagon. The 28-year-old has made quick work out of Correia (34 seconds), Cat Zingano (14), Alexis Davis (16) and Sara McMann (66) in recent fights.

Along with her incredible run of success in MMA, Rousey has transitioned herself into a cross-over star. She appeared in recent blockbusters like “Entourage,” “The Expendables 3″ and “Fast and Furious 7.”

Rousey is also set to play herself in a major-motion adaptation of her autobiography soon, along with other signed contracts for films.

Holm will be the fourth unbeaten fighter in the last five to try and take Rousey down. She has scored victories over Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau since signing with the UFC after a run in Legacy FC.

The 33-year-old “Preacher’s Daughter” won 18 boxing titles over three divisions before leaving the sport and putting all her focus on MMA. Holm’s last boxing match came in 2013 when he scored a decision victory over Mary McGee. She went 33-2-3 during her 11-year career.

Holm, who trains out of Jackson-Winkeljohn’s gym in New Mexico, finished Juliana Werner back in 2014 and scored five straight knockouts to start her career.

UFC 195 takes place January 2 from MGM Grand Garden Arena.
