For Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, there’s no question a UFC middleweight title shot is in his future. While the former Strikeforce and DREAM champion sounds confident, he knows there is more work to be done.
“I wonder who I’ll fight for the belt,” said Souza to TATAME. “Of course, I will fight for the belt. The belt is my focus. I am not evading the responsibility of the belt away from me and think I have a few more fights to do before I get there.”
Earlier in the year, Souza joined the UFC with three straight Strikeforce wins. He then submitted Chris Camozzi and knocked out Yushin Okami. Of his last five wins, four have ended in the opening round.
Souza last won at UFC Fight Night 28 on September 4 in the co-main event.
