With Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi joining the UFC middleweight division, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza isn’t bothered with the extra competition.
“The weight drop of Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi stirred much in the category,” said Souza to TATAME. “Great fights are yet to happen.”
Machida took a first round head kick win over Mark Munoz in his middleweight debut. Mousasi has spent time as a Strikeforce and DREAM light heavyweight champion. The two are set for UFC Fight Night 34 on February 8 and it’s from Brazil’s Arena Jaragua.
Souza joined the UFC this year and has taken two wins. He defeated Chris Camozzi and Yushin Okami within one round.
