Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has fought in some big name promotions such as DREAM and Strikeforce. When Souza debuted for the UFC in May, the feeling inside the Octagon was different from anything he’s ever experienced.
“It’s completely different,” said Souza to MMA Junkie. “It’s a world-class event. Everything is grandiose, even when they announce your name. That’s why so many fighters feel so stressed the first time around. It’s a lot of bright lights. It’s a gigantic show that’s seen around the world.”
Souza was the DREAM and Strikeforce middleweight champion at points in his career. In his UFC debut, he took Submission of the Night against Chris Camozzi. He improved to 18-3 with the first round arm triangle choke.
Later in the week he takes on the 29-7 Yushin Okami. Earlier in the year he got a split-decision on Hector Lombard.
They’re the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 28 this Wednesday, September 4. It comes from Brazil’s Mineirinho Arena and airs live on FOX Sports 1.
