Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal put a cap on the two-day Rizin Fighting Federation 1 event in Japan, scoring a first round knockout of Jiri Prochazka to claim the heavyweight tournament.
Lawal, a Bellator light heavyweight, added the finish to his opening round win that was also a stoppage victory. He earned a decision over Teodoras Aukstuolis in the semifinals to advance.
Fedor Emelianenko, the former pound-for-pound No. 1 fighter in the world, returned after three years away and finished Jaideep Singh in the opening round.
“The Last Emperor” improved to 35-4 by besting Singh, who was making just his third pro MMA appearance.
In other action, Kron Gracie submitted Asen Yamamoto and Gabi Garcia finished Seini Draughn.
