It appears we now know why Joe Warren was not inserted as a replacement in the now-cancelled Bellator bantamweight title fight, as The MMA Report is reporting Warren failed a post-fight drug test.
According to documents received, Warren’s marijuana level was 53 ng/ml, with the legal limit in Texas being 50. Under the WADA testing guidelines, the limit is 150.
Warren bested LC Davis in the Bellator 143 main event in September. The Texas Combative Sports Program has not released any official statement regarding the news.
After winning the 130-pound men’s Greco-Roman title at the 2006 FILA Wrestling World Championships, Warren tested positive for marijuana and was given a two-year suspension. He was expected to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics prior to the failed test.
