St-Pierre has not fought since a 2013 title defense vs. Johny Hendricks. He returned from injury in 2012 to unify the belts with a decision win over Carlos Condit and defeated Nick Diaz the next year.
Overall, GSP owns UFC records for most wins in a title fights with 12, most wins overall with 19, most decision wins with 12 and most successful title defenses in the welterweight division at nine.
Following news of the return, MMAFighting.com reached out to St-Pierre, who denied the claim.
“I can tell you with certainty that their sources are not reliable,” he said.
