According to MMAInAsia.com, former UFC champion Frankie Edgar and ex-WEC titleholder Urijah Faber will headline the first-ever Octagon appearance in Manila this May.
Edgar (17-4-1) and Faber (32-7) would go down May 16 from the MOA Arena in the Philippines as the main event.
After losing the UFC lightweight title, Edgar dropped down to featherweight and challenged Jose Aldo for the belt. He was defeated by Aldo, but has since earned three straight wins, including finishes of Cub Swanson and BJ Penn.
Edgar tweeted out recently that he has a “big day for me” on Twitter, adding UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta to the message.
